What level of undress will will be required for a massage?

You will determine this. You will only be asked to disrobe to a level that you are comfortable with, however it will be expected that you will remain with your underwear on your lower half.

During the massage only the area that is being treated will be exposed and the remainder of your body will be draped (covered in towels).

If you wish to keep additional clothing on, we can modify the massage to accommodate this.

However for a massage where oil is applied to the skin, there will be the need to remove clothing from that area.

Will the massage hurt?

Massage involves the application of pressure to the body, the amount of pressure that makes the massage enjoyable is different for everyone.

At any time that you find that the pressure is too much or not enough, let the massage therapist know and they will adjust the pressure being used to ensure that you are getting the massage that suits you.

What should I wear to a massage appointment?

Wear something that you feel comfortable in.

During the massage the level of disrobing you are comfortable with, but the expectation is that your lower underwear will remain on.

Although we use water-soluble oils during the massages and which should wash out of any clothing, it is advised that you take this into consideration when choosing your attire.

What type of oil is used in the massage?

Professional-grade water-soluble oils. If you have any concerns with allergies, please contact us for further information

How long will the massage be?

The sessions will include time for a short consultation so that the masseur can find out what you want to get from your massage, time to get undressed before the massage and then time to get dressed again after the massage.

Eg. 60-minute session = approx. 50-55 minutes of massage time.

What if I pass wind (fart) while having a massage?

Hey it happens and it probably will as your body becomes more relaxed and as they say “better out than in”. But seriously it is not an issue and no one will be offended.

What should I do before having a massage?

Turn up a few minutes early so that when you come into the session you are not rushed and are able to relax quicker.

Make sure that you go to the bathroom just before your session as getting the urge to go in the middle of a massage will not help you to relax and feel comfortable.

What should I do after having a massage?

After your massage, get up slowly as some people can feel a bit light-headed after lying down for a period of time.

You should also increase your water intake because your massage has caused an increase in circulation through out your muscles and body and this will assist with removing the toxins released during the massage.

Can I claim on my health fund for my massage?

Unfortunately at this time, Laxare Massage is not registered for health fund rebates

Will a massage cure me of my pain?

If you have long-term chronic pain, massage will not cure your pain, however it may relieve some of the pain and/or provide you with greater mobility and flexibility. If you have tightness or general muscle aches massage can help you recover quicker.

Are there any conditions that I may have that should stop me from having a massage?

Is the massage therapist insured?

Yes our massage therapist is fully insured for both public liability and professional indemnity.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way and appointments have to be cancelled. Out of fairness to our therapists and other clients we request at least 24hrs notice. No shows or cancellations within 24 hours may incur a 50% fee.
